Papers of the North Family. Includes the manuscript of James W. North’s 1870 History of Augusta. Also includes important historical documents including the act changing the name of Harrington to Augusta.

PHOTOGRAPH COLLECTION

A visual history of the Augusta Area. The general photograph collection contains five boxes organized by topic. Contains other collections from individual families/entities.

SCRAPBOOK COLLECTION

Collection of scrapbook containing newspaper clippings related to Augusta area people and events. Starts around 1880 and runs to about 1980.

NEWSPAPER COLLECTION

Various editions of local and national newspapers. Runs from 1825 to the present. Includes papers on major events and specimens of regular papers.

 

BOUND NEWSPAPER COLLECTION

Bound edition of Augusta newspapers running from about 1823 until the early 20th century.

 

THIRD MAINE INFANTRY PENSION RECORDS

Xerox copies of the pension records of members of the Third Maine Infantry, which fought during the Civil War.
