To ensure the continued preservation of the important items

in our collection, the following rules should be observed.  

Please fill out a research registration form before beginning your research.

 

Society volunteers  will help you in gaining access to the collection. A computer database and printed finding aids are available.

 

Pencils only, please, when taking notes. We have some available.

 

White cotton gloves will provided for handling some rare and fragile material. Moisture, particulate and acid have a very damaging effect on materials.

 

Photocopying for personal research is to be done by KHS volunteers. Copyright laws and the the society's photocopy policy apply. Copying of entire books is not allowed.

 

Water in closed containers is allowed in the reading area; no food please.

 

Thank you for your cooperation with these rules. They were designed by the Collections Committee to provide a compromise between preservation, use and comfort in accordance with current library and archival standards.
